Oh Baby! Are you pregnant and have questions about your own skin care?

First, we want to say… Congratulations! What a wonderful time in your life. And one of the most important times in your life. The next nine months or so is about you and the NEW BABY about to change your life in so many ways.

For many new moms, in addition to all the changes your body is going through on the inside, your skin may also see some changes. The changes in your skin are a daily visual reminder that you are about to become a new mother. Some women are prone to acne when others are perceived as simply ‘glow’ and others may experience an itch due to the sensation of the abdomen stretching or passing this while others may began to see a mottled change in color in parts of their face, called melasma.

But, don’t worry, we’re here for you and your skin right now and whenever you need us in the next part of your very special journey. And we’ll be here after you’re pregnant because your skin stays with you for life. I will share many tips and some product recommendation. And we’ve got something for your new baby, too. Not every product is suitable for every pregnancy, so choose and choose carefully the right one for your needs.

Since it starts with an ‘A’, let’s address it first. Yep, acne. It’s hormones, it’s emotions, it’s acne. You might say, why me? Well, while everything else is changing and shifting in your body at this glorious time, your skin wants to be a part of it too.

Of course, acne is a pre-existing condition for some people. Are you thinking, lucky me? Well, it’s another challenge, but with proper care, a clean skin care routine is one more thing you can use to get ready for your little one. Because you will want to take care of your skin like a baby, some of the tips that I will share here will also be very helpful for baby care.

So your skin is starting to tell you that your body is changing. You used to break through a bit but now you are starting to experience a new level and you don’t know what is safe to do. Your newcomer’s safety concerns aren’t just your natural maternal instincts, it’s real. Many doctors have prescribed acne medications that won’t be on your list for the next 9 months and if you’re breastfeeding even longer. So, what is a new mother supposed to do?

This is Tender Skincare To Do List that hopefully brings you useful information that will help you to enhance without losing this wonderful time in your life. Take the moment, it’s yours. Before long, you’ll be sharing most of your moments with a new little miracle.

The effect of the practice making an overall difference will be reflected in your skin and how you feel overall.

Tender Skincare To Do List

Sleep

Time for our body to heal. Of course, 8 to 10 hours is recommended, but with the changes in the body, some women find this difficult to do. So take a nap. Naps are being promoted more and more every day because of their impact on our overall health and well-being.

One of the Sally B products that I find to help with sleep is Eco body lotion, Lavender scent. And if your feet are swollen, try it there.

Drinking water

You may feel the need to use hotter water in the hopes of getting your skin rid of any problems. The best thing is that water at a moderate temperature is also known as warm water. This is also a great baby bath time. They say test it with your elbow, but you probably already know that trick. Did you know that too much water can dry out and dehydrate the skin? So don’t overdo it with water. This can irritate acne-prone skin that is already sensitive. If your chest and back are too prominent, limit bathing time to 10 minutes, if you can.

Ours Tamanu Luxury Facial Cleanser It is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial and our customers praise how well this product tackles many of their acne conditions.

Exercise

Of course, as a mental health professional and know the impact our emotions have on our skin, I’m totally interested in mental health. And exercise is definitely one of the things that ensures our emotional balance. It will also make you feel better about yourself because you were able to do more than you thought you could, or reinforce what you already know and keep the parts solid and you feel stronger.

You may really like ours Colored moisturizer, if the acne is red and swollen more than you want. And you may feel more comfortable applying our Tinted Moisturizer to tone down and offer some protection if you’re out in the sun. It’s a great compliment to your sunscreen and neutralizing your skin tone will emphasize the natural radiance that people see in women when they’re pregnant.

Think

OMMM, is a good way to start, but so is saying “Thank you.” If you are new to meditation or are in the process of learning but cannot calm down before the storm, STOP PRACTICE. This will be very helpful when your baby arrives. When you are centered, they will learn to be too. At a time when hormones are shifting and screaming at you, there’s no better time to start this practice.

You may want to incorporate body care into your meditation and add Eco body lotion, Add lavender to your routine to help you meditate more effectively. Soothing, calming, refreshing, relaxing takes you to the Ahhhhhhhh you’ve been looking for.

Facials: DIY or Professional

Both are highly recommended. Especially see a licensed professional if you need a tooth extraction and if you just want to rest and enhance your daily care. Professional facials are incredibly helpful because the level of care they can provide exceeds what you can do on your own. Ask if the Esthetician you are seeing is adept at addressing the special needs of new mothers. They must know what NOT to use on your skin and they should interview you thoroughly before performing any services.

Carry your trusted Sally B products with you. This way, the professional will learn about what is right for you. And you can help them by recommending them a product that they and their other customers will benefit from. It’s nice to do something for others.

Do It Yourself Facials – Get Started!

You can make healthy skin care treatments at home.

    1. Gentle cleansing and toning

Start with warm water and Tamanu Luxury Facial Cleanser. Wet face. Apply the product to your ‘clean’ hands and then gently massage (think of the delicate pressure you would use to stroke your baby’s face) in small circular motions for 30 seconds to a minute. When using a cleanser with useful active ingredients, it’s the time it stays on the skin that really matters, not the pressure you use. Pressure adds to inflammation and we want to help soothe your skin. So, to get the most out of your cleanser, apply it carefully and let it do what it does. While you are doing this, use your meditation skills to see your skin, smooth, healthy and fine. Finish by removing unnecessary skin cells and soothing skin with Fruit Acid Toner with a soft cotton pad.

      2. Use More Antioxidants

Use products that are high in antioxidants and natural retinol alternatives (check with your doctor) to balance skin. Complete Citrine Botanical Treatment, Peptide Booster Serum and Boost skin’s antioxidants hydrates and removes dead skin cells and keeps your oil production under control, while encouraging healthy collagen growth.

        3. Put on a mask

Soothe your skin with B Green mud mask. Natural soothing ingredients including green clay will soothe your skin as you apply and leave as directed. Mix it with leftover honey, butter, water or green smoothie. Then rinse with medium heat water and a washcloth. Face towels act as a gentle exfoliation method. Use gentle pressure and do not over-stimulate the skin.

          4. Day and Night Leave Care

All of our products are soothing and moisturizing, so we make sure that what you leave on your skin not only protects you during the day, but also at night, we’re also working for friend. It may not make sense to use oils when the sebum we call ‘oil’ is one of the contributing factors to its effectiveness, but the truth is that using mild natural oils can can be useful. Acne-prone skin struggles to stay hydrated. To keep water in balance, oil is overproduced. It helps control inflammation and protects against acne-causing bacteria. Ours B Soothes facial skin with oil High in organic black cumin seed oil, which has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, helps calm redness, soothe irritation, and minimize acne-causing bacteria. B Quenched can be applied by itself or added to our other products such as our Antioxidant Serum for Daytime and Night.

            5. Prevention and Protection

Don’t forget to protect your delicate eye area with Sally B’s Intensive eye repair. Even if you don’t need any repairs yet, you want to protect the skin and around your eyes from the natural changes associated with facial movement. Since you’ll be laughing a lot and cooing, and we’re guessing you’ll be a bit sleep deprived, be sure to NOT forget this step. And add a little tweaking and masking to your lights with Colored moisturizer with some extra special ingredients that will keep your skin healthy and safe and give you a little radiance when you’re tired.
